Applied Faith Approach
The AFA Method
Reproducibility, over intuition.
System, over experience.
This is the single point APPLIED FAITH has pursued from the start.
The AFA Method is its first implementation, and its subject is the capacity of the individual mind.
What is the AFA Method?
The AFA Method — the Applied Faith Approach — is the collective name for the practical system developed by Makoto Tokunaga, CEO of APPLIED FAITH Corporation. It stands on three pillars — brain development, English acquisition and the maximisation of life satisfaction. Its name comes from the initials of APPLIED FAITH, roughly “living each day better by putting sincerity into practice.”
What the AFA Method maximises is life satisfaction across the whole of a lifetime. Love, wisdom, fortune, wealth, vitality, grace, gratitude and respect — the weights of these eight domains shift with each stage of life. Realising the optimal allocation at every stage maximises satisfaction over the whole of life. Mental capacity and command of English are both resources fed into this objective function. See Section 05。
The brain development method sets out to bring the faculties a person already has — thought, concentration and memory — out of chance and into a state that can be drawn on at will. What this requires is a clear definition of the state to reach, and the procedure that leads there.
A level once reached only by the gifted is written down as a procedure, so that whoever follows it arrives at the same point. This design principle was later carried into the Quantum Spacetime Strategy OS.
The multi-layer model
ConsciousnessDirect
The one layer that can be directed at will. Every operation begins here.
BodyDirect
The layer consciousness can act on. Breathing, posture — and brainwaves — belong here.
EmotionIndirect
Reached indirectly. As the state of the body changes, its waves settle.
MindIndirect
Also indirect. Clarity grows as emotion steadies.
Soul (essence)Core
The deepest layer. Reaching it releases the energy from which action springs.
Of the five layers, a person can operate the top two directly. This constraint is precisely why the AFA Method chooses brainwaves as its point of operation.
Emotion and mind respond to indirect routes, which is why sheer willpower fades. Consciousness acts on the body, and through measurable indicators on the body’s side reaches the deeper layers indirectly — this route is what makes the AFA Method a procedure.
Brainwave control
The target state defined by the AFA Method is the mid-alpha band — α2/9〜11Hz . The core of the training is to make this band, where learning and physical ability are said to peak, available deliberately and repeatedly, by design.
Prepare the brain on several fronts
Before training, the preconditions for the brain to work are improved directly from several angles.
Refine the use of consciousness
The essentials of meditation, reached by refining the use of consciousness to its limit, are taught.
Experience the brainwave shift, then sustain it
A transition that ordinary meditation training is said to take years to reach is experienced within days to weeks, then carried into a state that can be sustained.
Learn in the target state
In the alpha-2 state, the AFA English acquisition and mass memorisation methods are carried out. The same amount of study settles with a different density.
Master the use of the subconscious
Treated as a destination in its own right, it acts on the speed at which goals are reached.
The third pillar became independent.
Pillar 01
The AFA Method
Builds the foundation of concentration, memory, thought and creativity. Including brainwave control and mass memorisation, it is the base layer beneath all three pillars.
— Sections 02–03
Pillar 02
AFA English Acquisition
Vocabulary and command of English that hold up in practice, gained by a method that goes to the essence. It starts by preparing the state of the brain before study begins.
Pillar 03 — Independent
Maximising life satisfaction
The pillar that governs the weighting and allocation of resources across the eight domains. It is the AFA Method’s objective function itself; the computational layer that solves for its optimum grew into an independent system.
Quantum Spacetime Strategy OS →
Raised capacity becomes results once its direction is set; a clear goal is reached once the brain is prepared. The three pillars are three faces of one structure.
For the objective function set by the third pillar, the computational layer that solves for its optimum developed into analysis on three axes — person, time and space — and became an independent system: the Quantum Spacetime Strategy OS.
Today the flagship of APPLIED FAITH Corporation is the Quantum Spacetime Strategy OS. The AFA Method is its source, and its implementation as decision intelligence for organisations is carried by the Quantum Spacetime Strategy OS Institute.
Maximise life satisfaction over a lifetime.
What the AFA Method maximises is life satisfaction across the whole of a lifetime. At each stage of life, the optimal allocation for that moment is realised and sustained. Accumulated, these choices maximise satisfaction over the whole of life.
The Eight Domains
The importance of the eight domains is variable. With destiny, sex, age, role, environment, goals and stage of life, the optimal weights shift even for the same person。
Dynamic Modeling
Limited time, energy and resources are allocated to the domain of highest value at that moment — optimised at each stage, and sustained. The weights of the objective function move with time. Hence the problem is solved again each time。
The Volume Model
Each domain is set on three independent axes, with time on the X axis。The area of the cross-section spanned by the Y and Z axes is the happiness of that instant. Integrated over time, the resulting volume is the total happiness of that domain over a lifetime.
What is maximised is the sum of volumes — the total of all eight.
Volume = ∫ (cross-section) dt / conceptual diagram
Each of the eight domains has such a volume. Weights shift from phase to phase, and with them the size of each cross-section.
Conceptual diagram / allocations in each phase sum to 100. Gold marks fortune.
Time on the X axis, satisfaction on the Y axis, weight on the Z axis. The weights of the eight domains sum to one at every instant.
U = ∫0T Σi=1..8 si(t) wi(t) dt
The satisfaction of each domain depends on the history of accumulation and depletion created by earlier allocation.
Dynamic Lifetime Optimization Model — White Paper sets out the complete form, including the law of motion and the endogenous horizon.
Allocations sum to 100 in every phase; within that, the question is what to allocate where. Fortune and vitality, which have floors, receive generous allocation in every phase — when building, when expanding, and when handing on.
And volume is decided over time. Push the cross-section to its maximum at one moment, and if the cross-sections that follow shrink, the total becomes smaller. What is lost is more than that one moment. It is the whole of the remaining interval.
Conceptual diagram / volume ratios are relative values computed from the cross-sections shown
Hence, choosing the optimal allocation at every moment maximises the lifetime total. The value at the horizon is the accumulation of daily optimisation.
Fortune — a variable
At first sight, fortune alone sits outside philosophy. It has long been treated as the domain one’s philosophy — being, choice and focus — could never reach, however far it was taken. The Quantum Spacetime Strategy OS, by computing the three coordinates of person, time and space, places this one domain within the reach of design。
Fortune is a variable in the design of a Strategy OS. The OS computes the three coordinates of person, time and space, and outputs when and where to move, and when and where to build strength. The initial conditions are given; what is multiplied onto them is the person’s own choice。
And all eight domains follow the same law of depletion and accumulation. The domain that seemed to lie outside philosophy was inside it all along. All eight can be moved by choices of depletion and accumulation.
Depletion and accumulation are two sides of one total. What is kept, accumulates. Left to accumulate, it becomes defence; chosen deliberately, it becomes attack. Intention sets the direction.
Three Operations
01
Space
Choose
Choose the coordinates to occupy, and step around those to avoid.
02
Time
Read
Separate the time to sow from the time to build strength.
03
Accumulation
Build up
Remove depletion, and carry the increased total into the next phase.
Where to stand and when to move are both set by computation. The Quantum Spacetime Strategy OS outputs these three coordinates.

DESIGNED
Because it is a product, if either side thins, the result thins in proportion. Fortune stands once the multiplier is present. Destiny can be called merely the initial conditions because the second term exists.
Being and focus belong to the person. Quantum Spacetime Strategy OS gives precision to choice——when to move, and where to choose. Its optimum differs from person to person.
Two Interfaces
The AFA Method sets the objective function of life; the Quantum Spacetime Strategy OS sharpens the precision of its optimum. The OS also acts directly on one of the eight domains. Precision from above, a variable from within.
The objective is to maximise life satisfaction over a lifetime. Fortune is a means used in that maximisation.
The AFA Method is a dynamic optimisation model that aims to maximise life satisfaction over a lifetime by continuously setting the optimal weighting and allocation of resources, at each stage of life, across eight domains: love, wisdom, fortune, wealth, vitality, grace, gratitude and respect.
