Privacy Policy
APPLIED FAITH Corporation (Quantum Spacetime Strategy OS Institute; “the Company”) recognises the importance of its clients’ personal information, and acquires, uses and manages it appropriately in accordance with the following policy.
This English version is provided for reference. Where it differs from the Japanese original, the Japanese original prevails.
01Definition of personal information
In this Policy, “personal information” means “personal information” as defined in Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information: information about a living individual by which a specific individual can be identified, such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, occupation or other descriptions.
02How personal information is collected
When a client applies for Spacetime Position Diagnosis, any consulting service, the Annual Strategy OS Partnership, the certification programme or similar, the client may provide the following information:
- Name
- Date of birth
- Email address
- Telephone number
- Information on occupation and present circumstances
- Any other information entered in the application form
For Spot Reports of the Spacetime Databank, the Company does not receive the name of the subject and handles the engagement under a case code. Details are set out in Sections 03 and 04.
03Handling of information on analysis subjects
The Spacetime Databank is a service in which the Company holds and analyses information on third parties other than the client (counterparties, investees, M&A targets, executive candidates and others; “analysis subjects”) to support the client’s own decisions. The Company handles information on analysis subjects separately from the client’s own personal information.
The information the Company holds for analysis is, in principle, limited to the following:
- Date of birth (and time of birth, where known)
- Sex
- The date, time and place of contact between the client and the analysis subject
- Background information the client provides as necessary for the decision
The Company uses information on analysis subjects solely to provide the service to the client concerned. It does not provide such information to third parties, does not divert it to services for other clients, and does not accumulate or build it into the Company’s database.
04Handling under case codes
Spot Reports (Rapid, Comprehensive and In-depth) can be commissioned under a case code, without the name of the analysis subject. In that case the Company neither obtains nor holds the subject’s name. The correspondence between the case code and the actual person remains under the client’s control; the Company does not retain it.
For due diligence and advisory contracts, to secure the precision of and responsibility for the advice, the conclusion of a non-disclosure agreement and disclosure under real names are prerequisites. The restrictions on separation and purpose of use in the preceding section also apply to names and other information obtained in that case.
For the proper provision of services and the prevention of misuse, the Company keeps records of the case code, date and time of application, type of application and purpose of use. These records do not include the names of analysis subjects for whom the application was made with the name withheld.
05Purposes of collection and use
The Company uses personal information it obtains for the following purposes:
- To confirm and screen applications, and to provide information
- To provide Strategy OS consulting and analysis services
- To provide information on, and screen for, the certification programme
- To prepare and provide analyses and reports in the Spacetime Databank
- To respond to inquiries
- For statistical analysis to improve services (in a form that does not identify individuals)
06Changes to purposes of use
The Company may change the purposes of use of personal information to the extent reasonably recognised as relevant to the purposes before the change. If it does so, it will notify clients of the changed purposes by the method it prescribes, or publish them on its website.
07Provision to third parties
The Company will not provide personal information to third parties without the client’s prior consent, except in the following cases:
- Where required by law
- Where necessary to protect a person’s life, body or property and it is difficult to obtain the person’s consent
- Where cooperation is necessary for a national body, a local government, or a party entrusted by either, to perform duties prescribed by law
External services (such as Formspree) are used to send and receive application forms. These service providers handle information under their own privacy policies.
08Disclosure
When an individual requests disclosure of their personal information, the Company will disclose it to that individual without delay. Where disclosure would fall under grounds for non-disclosure permitted by law, the Company may withhold all or part of it, and will notify the individual of that decision without delay.
09Correction and deletion
Where personal information about a client held by the Company is inaccurate, the client may request correction, addition or deletion through the procedure the Company prescribes.
10Suspension of use
Where an individual requests suspension of use or erasure on the grounds that their personal information is being handled beyond the purposes of use, or was obtained by improper means, the Company will conduct the necessary investigation without delay.
11Changes to this Policy
Except as otherwise provided by law or by this Policy, the contents of this Policy may be changed without notice to clients. Unless the Company provides otherwise, the revised Privacy Policy takes effect from the time it is posted on this website.
