Yusaku Matsuda
The "Jeans" detective of Taiyo ni Hoero!, Tantei Monogatari, The Family Game, Black Rain. More than thirty years after his death he is still spoken of: the charismatic actor who defined the Showa era. He left high school and went to America, passed through the Bungakuza acting school, made his name at twenty-three, became the face of his time, and stood on a Hollywood set knowing he was ill. The month after the film opened, he died at forty. A destiny that gives rise to charisma, and a single heavenly stem that binds its flow. When that stem overlapped, what was taking place? We read the year he emerged, the year of the incident and his marriage, and the years of his summit and his death against the phases of destiny and time.
