Albert Einstein
After university he could find no research post. Working as an examiner at the Swiss patent office, he wrote four papers in a single year at twenty-six. On 30 June 1905, the paper that overturned the common sense of time and space was received. That year was one of the two void years that return every twelve years. Its month and day carried, in sequence, the two elements that most help his destiny. Why was his greatest work born in his period of weakest strength? Seventy-six years, set against the phases of destiny and time.

Research Brief
What the case shows
- He carries a star of hard setbacks in his teens and early twenties. He failed the university entrance examination, and after graduating found no research post.
- The decade from age twenty-three is the lowest-energy period of his life. For the rank that signals the highest intellect, weaker strength is the higher grade.
- 1905 was a void year. On 30 June — in the month of the element that helps his destiny most, on the day of the second — special relativity was received.
- His day and month pillars face each other with only yin and yang reversed. The stronger the light that breaks common sense, the stronger the darkness born with it.
- In the twenty years from age thirty-three, the element that most helps his destiny arrives. General relativity and the Nobel Prize fall inside them.
