Marie Antoinette
At fourteen she was sent from Austria to marry into France. At eighteen she became queen and stood at the centre of Versailles. Her destiny was a high-quality structure, loved by heaven. That structure began to crumble from within in the autumn of her thirty-second year: the element meant to help her most was bound by the current of time that arrived, and lost its strength. Two years later came the Revolution; six years later, the scaffold. Why was a destiny so loved left unprotected? Thirty-seven years, set against the phases of destiny and time.

Research Brief
What the case shows
- Her year, month and day stems run in one unbroken chain of generation — a structure loved by heaven, with the element that helps her most at its origin.
- Her accession as queen at eighteen came in a year of the element that helps her most. Early that year, still inside the previous year’s void, she met the man who would be her lifelong tie.
- The Affair of the Necklace in 1785 broke in a void year. The queen was declared innocent; her honour never returned.
- From thirty-two, a ten-year current binds to the element at the origin of her destiny and takes it away. The chain and the strongest help are lost at once.
- Two years into that current came the Revolution; six years in, the scaffold — nine months after her husband’s death.
