Ichikawa Danko V
Ichikawa Danko V, the Omodakaya house, the Super Kabuki Yamato Takeru. Grandson of Ichikawa En'o II and son of Teruyuki Kagawa (Ichikawa Chusha IX), he belongs to a new generation of kabuki. At eight he took his name on the same day as his grandfather and father, and made his first stage appearance. That year was a void year for him, and also the year in which his power to inherit the ties of his house reached its lifetime peak. He and his grandfather share the same emblem of how life's turning points arrive. In the year after his grandfather's death, at twenty, he played the lead in his grandfather's signature work. Why did he take on the name in a void year? We read a path that opens through hardship against the phases of destiny and time.
