Okubo Toshimichi
Born into a low-ranking samurai family in Satsuma, he built the framework of a new state through the Restoration of Imperial Rule and the abolition of the domains. He parted ways with his ally Saigo Takamori, and within a year of Saigo's death, on 14 May 1878, he was killed at Kioizaka. On what kind of spacetime did the architect of modern Japan live?

- In the decade from 1875, the value for wisdom fell further than at any other time in his life.
- On 14 May 1878, on a day when the karma of having one's life bent by others stood up, he fell.
