Shigenobu Nagamori
In 1973, at twenty-eight, he founded Nidec in Kyoto with three colleagues and, through acquisition after acquisition, built it into the world's leading motor maker. He appointed successors and replaced them, and on 19 December 2025 he resigned as representative director, taking responsibility for accounting irregularities. Why could the founder never fully hand over his seat?
